As we continue to develop the Live Oak CCS Hub in Louisiana, our team is excited to share some updates about the project. To better understand the impact that Live Oak CCS Hub will have on the region, we have commissioned an economic impact analysis from Dr. Loren Scott in Baton Rouge.
This project represents a critical step in reducing carbon emissions while fostering economic growth in the West Baton Rouge and Iberville Parishes and the broader Louisiana economy. As we have said in previous messages, we are committed to building strong partnerships in Louisiana as we launch this endeavor, and this report is another example of how we will continue to provide useful information along the way.
The Live Oak CCS Hub is expected to bring significant economic benefits during construction and operation. According to an economic impact study conducted by Loren C. Scott & Associates, the project would yield:
As an innovative CCS project, the Live Oak Hub will reduce industrial emissions and help local businesses meet environmental standards in a cost-effective manner, enabling them to remain valuable employers and economic contributors in Louisiana. The CCS process involves capturing CO₂ emissions, transporting the CO₂ to secure underground storage locations and allowing it to naturally mineralize over time, ensuring long-term environmental benefits.
The Live Oak CCS team is committed to an open and transparent engagement process. We have already begun working with local landowners, elected officials and community leaders to share our plans and address any questions.
Our new office, located at 309 South Vaughn Street, Suite G, in Brusly, is in the process of opening in West Baton Rouge. A local representative will be on hand every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-11 a.m. to answer specific questions.
We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with you and this community.
